Trees clean our air and water, create habitats for biodiversity, contribute to our health and wellbeing & create jobs for social impact. We’re honored to have reforestation through One Tree Planted as an integral part of our business model.
One Tree Planted is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to global reforestation. They plant trees to restore nature and biodiversity. They also raise awareness about the importance of trees, offer businesses like ours a simple sustainability solution, and motivate younger generations to do something positive for the environment.
2023 was a year for the record books. In June, we celebrated the incredible milestone of being a part of 100 million trees planted total since inception. And we are just getting started! Thanks to your support, a total of 74,820 trees were planted to restore 98 hectares of land in Florida!
The objective of the Florida 2023 - Longleaf Pine Restoration project was to restore cutover forestland areas on six Florida State Park properties to longleaf habitat through the planting of 74,820 longleaf pine seedlings. By reforesting these areas with longleaf pine, this project aims to better support and expand local biodiversity, as well as cultivate fire resiliency to reduce the risk of catastrophic wildfires.
Projects like these are made possible by you! We thank you so much for your donation and the support your trees will offer to people, nature, and wildlife in Florida!
Every year, we are proud to share what we have accomplished, together. And while tree planting numbers are the simplest way to communicate the scale of reforestation impact, our work is informed by the understanding that reforestation is about more than planting trees.
Every tree we plant represents hope for a greener future. In addition to creating important environmental benefits, our projects provide jobs, training, nutrition, and other life-changing resources to the communities that need them the most.
Florida state forests provide habitat to a wide variety of wildlife. Endangered species that inhabit Florida's forests and wetlands include the Florida panther, the American alligator and American crocodile, sea turtles and manatees. Habitat loss and degradation is a major threat to the survival of these species.
The majority of Florida's endangered species live in wetlands, which play a key role in the health of our environment. Many of Florida’s wetlands have been altered by human activities, changing their hydrological function and threatening the natural communities that rely on them.
Longleaf pine ecosystems are another vital part of Florida's natural environment, supporting rare animal species like red-cockaded woodpeckers and gopher tortoises. Longleaf pine forests and savannas have been drastically reduced from an estimated 90 million acres to less than 3 million acres, largely due to urbanization and over-utilization. Your support will help our amazing reforestation partners to replant and restore these important ecological areas.
