I'm Melissa, the proud owner of The Happy Goat Soapery. I'm a Small-Batch Alchemist located in Fort Pierce, Florida. We Formulate Goat Milk Bath & Body Products.
It's so nice that you stopped by to see us, and learn more about who we are, and what we do.
It all started with one question we kept asking ourselves every time we would grab a product off the store shelves and read the labels. "What the heck is in this?" We didn't have the answer and instead of an answer we kept running into more questions. We couldn't pronounce the ingredients on most all of the store bought products that we used to purchase, and somehow, we agreeably put them on our skin without question!!! "If they are in stores; they must surely be safe right?" Boy, were we wrong,. Yikes!!!
As we dug deeper beyond the world of just soap. We found major concerns in thousands of products on the shelves being sold to you and I.
We just couldn't erase what we had discovered out of our minds. (Yes, it kept us up at night).
We felt compelled to produce our own bath and body products, after what we uncovered. We had the right to know exactly what we were putting onto our skin daily and actually be able to pronounce and understand the ingredients. That's fair right?
So off to work we went..... and boy did we ever!
As we created our own bath and body products in the USA, we felt the need to share them with the world. Now; in the midst of making and using wonderful products free of nasty chemicals, toxins, parabens, phthalates, SLS and all kinds of other harmful ingredients, we knew that we needed to do more. We had to share this with other humans who deserve to have good, trustworthy, safe, products in their home and so... The Happy Goat Soapery was born.
Having a creative mind can get you lost in a world of wonder but can also allow you to act. We wanted to create safe products for humans but our thoughts kept going over environmental impacts. We made the conscious effort to move towards, Green, Clean and Zero Waste.. To make our business better, for humans, animals and sea creatures of all kinds.
Our vision is to go completely zero waste. We work towards that everyday. Our efforts to create a cleaner, and more ethical, business is something we are constantly striving for. We can all do better!
We have specifically chosen ingredients; with this in mind at all times. We only source our ingredients from aware businesses that adhere to our sustainable vision.
In the times of covid, we had to adjust accordingly. We do wrap all of our soaps in Biodegradable Biolefin shrink at this time.
We use Recyclable and Biodegradable, Shipping Packaging. This includes our packing tape, which is either brown paper or cellulose biodegradable packing tape. We also repurpose incoming materials for products, packing, and shipping.
Our Labels are handmade with water soluble ink, biodegradable recycled brown paper and biodegradable glue that we make ourselves.
We care deeply about the planet & creating a business that gives back to nature. That’s why we’re thrilled to share that we’re partnering with One Tree Planted/@onetreeplantedto plant a tree for every soap sold. Trees clean our air and water, create habitats for biodiversity, contribute to our health and wellbeing & create jobs for social impact. We’re honored to have reforestation through One Tree Planted as an integral part of our business model.
This topic is very real for us. It is extremely important that we source our goat milk from farmers in the USA only and who only use ethical practices. The dairies are periodically visited to see operations first-hand and to verify best practices are being followed. Goats are fed a well-balanced diet of hay and grain with plenty of fresh water. When healthy natural vegetation is around, the goats are able to roam. Goats are not given any bovine growth hormones, steroids, or antibiotics. Happy Goats!
We never use endangered plants or essential oils in our products and we are active contributors to "The Red List" To help protect endangered plant species. The International Union for Conservation of Nature’s Red List of Threatened Species has evolved to become the world’s most comprehensive information source on the global conservation status of animal, fungi and plant species.
We collaborate with Local and Domestic Artists, and companies around the USA to add handmade products to our collections and add our collections to brick and mortar shops. We feel it is important to have sustainable connections within our communities, contribute to improved public infrastructure, and invest socially and economically.
